Mademoiselle Rabbit by HillaryWhiteRabbit Mademoiselle Rabbit by HillaryWhiteRabbit
Acrylic on canvas, 2008.

based on Carolus-Duran's Mademoiselle Croizette

******

Before I painted this, I had a few ideas bookmarked in one of my enormous art books. This painting was on the opposite page of one of my choices, but didn't really notice it until I had a dream the night before, involving a horse that could jet ski across water... (I won't bore you with the rest of the details...) So I decided to give this one a go, I probably wouldn't have otherwise if not for that dream.

I love this whole series, an absolutely inspired idea and executed perfectly. This piece is my favourite.

your use of shading and colour is decidedly surreal (rabbit heads aside ;) )
this one really caught my eye in your gallery. I am glad you decided to paint this. I think it's an amazing piece.
